#TBT Hospitality Lessons From Across the Globe
I find myself waxing nostalgia every Thursday as I continually see my children post their #tbt pictures weekly on Instagram. Something I saw today took me back to a trip I embarked on with my beautiful wife. Recently, we went on an adventure. And I am not exaggerating when I say adventure.
We traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam, biking through the country and riding on elephants as we interacted with the locals. As we traveled from town to village to town again, the sophisticated level of hospitality offered in each area amazed me. As the owner of service industry companies, it reinforced my belief that good service and the willingness to help goes father than a language barrier.
Just by spending a few extra moments to help my wife and I succeed in reaching our destination or providing details for us to have an even better experience, the people of Vietnam ensured we had a trip filled with memories we will remember forever.
One night after our trip, I did a little research into the tourism of Vietnam and was not surprised to see that the country has had a jump of more than 50% in visitors since 2009. The Vietnam government intends to invest close to $100 billion towards its tourism infrastructure by the end of the year. It is a lesson to all: if you spend a little, you just might gain a lot. We are looking forward to returning to the country soon. In the meantime, enjoy a few pictures from our adventure!
